It appears that military spending has replaced the SS and Medicare as the third rail in politics
It is quite stunning to note that the issue of spending on our three current wars and the gargantuan military budget VERY rarely gets into the national discussion of budget cuts and the Ryan plan. Sadly, this is a bipartisan phenomena. The MIC has become the most sacred of all budget items followed closely by the refusal of our leaders in Congress to make the 1%'ers and large corporations pay even a fraction of the share they should be paying to our society.

Watching just a few moments of Meet The Press is enough to make you start drinking. Do these people all agree not to discuss ending the wars before they get on air or is it a "one and done" type of deal if you do bring it up? One thing is certain, our national, corporately-owned media is corrupt beyond all measure.

4. Yes, by design. As long as the propaganda is so controlled
as it is now since deregulation, the sheep will follow and can be consistently convinced to vote to cut their own throats.

5. They don't think of it as corrupt.
I would say they mostly think of it as how the system works, or is suppose to work. Even patriotic to have a guy on a phone that is an ideological monitor in the control room.

In the time of war, what you put on news the enemy might see, so there was a filtering of news during ww2. After ww2 we went straight into the cold war, where again they figured the news should be filtered, then the war on terrorism, after a short break from war, accept for a few dust ups.

But the thing is, we been in perpetual war, and influence over media by cold warriors has been in effect for decades. It doesn't have to be the guy on the phone in the control area. It can be the choice of what stories to run, what to say, or what to allow being said.

And the media is getting better, more diverse views are on the air, but they still doing lots of distractions, and going after the groups that don't play the corporate game.

And that includes the war game.

And I am still due beer and travel money, and I know there are billionaires involved in each of the major stations.

They need to break up the media consolidations, but over the last decades it has only gotten worse.

15. You the Boston Tea Party was all about
stopping CORPORATE influence over Government.

It's going to take a repeat of what our Founding Fathers had to resort to to stop it once again.

People can disagree with me all you want but one day you will finally have had enough and will be willing to STAND up for freedom.

Change will no longer happen via the ballot due to Citizens United.

Deep down you know it, you have been seeing it happen for over 30 years now, elections are now becoming meaningless now.....

It past time for people to wake up and smell the coffee.

8. I believe the third rail aspect of military spending relates to providing our forces what they need
to stay alive and win.

Don't misunderstand, while the war against Afghanistan was clearly justifiable, those against Iraq and Libya were not. However, once American forces are ordered into action, we are morally obligated to provide them whatever they require, regardless of the cost.

11. My thoughts after watching the programs is
that it all needs to crash and burn. We don't stand a chance. Our media, the politicians, they are all benefiting from corporations,Wall Street the MIC.
We can't fight it. There is no one to speak for us.
They worry only about their comfort, their jobs, their re elections, their security.

It's all a fucking sham. Get out there and vote? Sure might as well but don't expect any fucking change.

We get a fast hard plunge into hell or a slow decent into hell, either way screaming all the way down and it's the same spot we are going to land in.

but don't expect any fucking change." I'm just wondering how long this charade is going to last before it all caves in on itself.

14. The sooner it all caves in perhaps the
people will say enough. The politicians and their media do nothing but dig the chasm deeper between the people while harming everyone but the rich in both parties. And the people believe the leaders in their respective parties, while the leaders on both sides take care of their wants and needs, their lives. it is indeed a sham.
