Maybe the Rapture happened and Jesus just couldn't find any true Christians
Let's face it, like Diogenes and his lantern searching Athens for an honest man, being a true Christian is not, I repeat not, easy and most of the people who most loudly proclaim their Christianity are probably the furthest removed from the teachings of Jesus as expressed in the New Testament.

According to Jesus in order to follow him you gotta believe, I mean really believe but you also have to:

1. Love God with your whole heart and soul--no man can serve two masters.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself--including the ones that don't look, think or act like you do.
3. Don't be a hypocrite: Don't criticize the splinter your neighbor's eye and ignore the beam in your own--let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
4. Turn the other cheek when others oppress you.
5. Stop talking about your relationship with God and do something to help others: By your deeds they shall know you.
6. Sell everything you have and give the money to the poor (Ouch that's gotta hurt).

Oh and enjoying a nice glass of wine or two with friends is perfectly cool. Anyone got a jar of water?

As Gandhi is supposed to have said and I'm probably misquoting.

I love Christ but I can't stand Christians--they are so unlike Christ.

1. That's the most reasonable rapture explanation I've read here so far
Rapture cancelled for lack of qualified participants.

3. I know I don't live up to it--unlike those who call themselves Christians I don't pretend I do.
Besides, I got a little problem with that faith thingy.

Another reason I wasn't raptured.

9. To my mind, I have met a few
I would never say they do not exist. Their number is very small, but human diversity accomodates a great many things. That said, I do not imagine myself to remotely qualify.

20. The few I've met who would remotely qualify would not expect to be among the elect
Most truly religious people who I have met were very humble and very well aware of their own shortcomings.

11. With NO due respect
You are so out there in left field.

Why do you Satanic apologists keep quoting Jesus 1.0?
Since He resurrected and is floating in the clouds (where you'll never know
because, like the rapture, His location is not fixed) He's sent down
gospels to the Chosen Ones.

1. God is gold. Money is gold. Same master.
2. Arnold channels Solomon and the liberal media attacks him.
3. Jesus died for my sins, not my neighbors.
4. After both cheeks are slapped, open fire. Preemptively if necessary.
5. Fear the Inquisition!
6. The poor are poor because that's how Jesus wants them. Titus Andronicus 4: 6-22

And if you weren't such a Heathen Heretic from Hades, I'd teach you the water-to-wine
incantation.

BTW, Gandhi's roasting as we speak

13. your quotes are accurate but...
perhaps a bit misleading.

None of these spell out a direct correlation between going to heaven and/or going to hell. For example, #6 is about being perfect.

To my knowledge there is only one passage in the Bible which spells out exactly what gets you life eternal and what gets you everlasting punishment.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2025&version=KJV

^snip^

31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

So, if you care for the poor the sick and the imprisoned you are OK. If not you are screwed. It is just that simple (or you don't believe the teachings of the Gospel).

23. God Grief, people
He's talking to farm animals, duh, not people.

Sheep go to Heaven where they clothe Angels with their wool
and feed them lamb chops with their young.

Goats go to Hell because their horny hircuses.

You didn't really think He meant for Christians to feed and clothe the
naked coming strangers, did you?

Well, I guess ilbelievers can misread anything!

19. I don't know about St. Paul but once Christianity became the establishment religion of the ...
Roman Empire it pretty much ossified.

Not that Christians weren't merrily murdering each other of interpretations of doctrine before tat time.
