How can a vast majority possibly be persecuted?
There are too many places for me to ask this question effectively, so I post it as an OP.

1. What about the tiny super rich minority vs everyone else?
Just an example.

2. Give me an example of how "everyone else" in that example is being persecuted.

If you're going to call high gas prices or other power plays designed to let the rich run off with all the fucking money as persecution, you're going to stretch that word rather harshly.

12. our taxes go to military spending to defend their overseas interests

Economic persecution has always been the basis for controlling the masses.

It is more effective than physical persecution, when the ratio is around 20 to 1 physical persecution is inefficient.

4. Same way roving gangs of gays are terrorizing straight people.
i.e., it's bullshit. The 'vast majority' you're talking about is NOT being 'persecuted'. Being occasionally presented with an alternative paradigm to your own is not 'persecution'.

7. I think "persecute" is basically defined as "to annoy"
Some religious folks are pretty easy to annoy or persecute. Buttt, is the problem with their personality, or with the world?

11. Probably the way I feel persecuted by being in the vast majority of...
Christians who prefer not to fight about religion, or even opine publicly much, but am caught between loudmouthed evangelicals and atheists and their constant aggravating noise.

14. "vast majority of Christians who prefer not to fight about religion"
Your majority privilege is showing. Why is gay marriage illegal again?

I had to snicker about how careful you were to not broad brush Christians, and then you broad brush atheists.

13. Ask the non-while South Africans
It was, what, 5 million whites controlling 25 million non-whites?

It's hard to accomplish, though.

16. What about a monarchy?
Would that not be the vast majority being subjugated and persecuted by a very, very small minority?
