Both Osama and Obama pleased with Arab uprisings?
Something tells me (history) that the powers that be in the USA are way less "pleased" and supportive.

After all...why has the USA backed and supported creating Israel, installed dictatorial power in that region, and generally fucked with the people for the last 100 years there to now be for "democracy"?

I know the President needs to put a good face on it but isn't it obvious that what the power base here fears the most is the people controlling their own countries in that region?
The Arab world has every right to be outraged at the USA and with the actual citizens at the helm via voting and Democracy...well... who knows what could break loose.

and, hopefully, along with much of the world, will take 'the power base here' with him and us. After all, there is MUCH to gain from a NEW world order, imo.

2. I would agree with you if...

...I thought that the President ran this country as opposed to corporate interests.

4. No President 'runs' a country, it takes much more than one person,
and more than a small village, but he is trying, we are trying, and we will see.

6. Actually....

...I was trying to highlight the difference.

Still trying to wrap my head around the idea that the power players in our country welcome Democracy in that region.

The last thing the power players here want is genuine democracy in the ME..
