Wisconsin: Recount over, Prosser declared winner
http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/122364728.html

<snip>

With the weeks-long recount complete, unofficial numbers confirm that state Supreme Court Justice David Prosser narrowly defeated
Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in the April 5 election.

But the battle may not be over yet, as Kloppenburg mulls whether to challenge the results in court.

And if a legal contest goes on long enough, attorneys say it could delay efforts to swear Prosser in for a new term on Aug. 1, leading to a temporary vacancy on the closely divided high court.

Blog comments are especially viscious; be careful if you look there.

1. The whole thing smells
Scott Walker, " ..... as long as there aren't ballots somehow found out of the blue that weren't counted before ..... "

Eric Holder is the limp bridegroom on the wedding night in protecting our election rights.

2. For the losers, it always smells.
Oh, I'm Palin. I can't believe I lost. I thought my sexy body was gonna help us to win, despite the fact that we have no education and we're idiots.

3. no it smells because it smells
Facts

* This is the third time Waukesha County Clerk, Kathy Nichols, has had some kind of irregularity favoring
republicans in an election she was involved in.

* Kathy Nichols told a lie that she lost the vote data on her personal P.C. because she did not hit the save key
even though the program she was running had a default save function.

* The missing votes were not found in a bi-partisan canvass of the vote as she stated either.

* The bags that contained the questionable ballots were not sealed properly.

* I have worked in election protection and campaigns for years and the idea that somehow they just "missed"
county the 2nd biggest city in the county's votes until a day and half afterwords begs credibility too. You simply
don't miss counting 14,000 votes on election night @ the county BOE because people would be asking where are
the returns

* And Governor Walker's comments after a meeting w/ Judge Prosser were more than a little disturbing.

* And how did members of right wing media outlets know about the missing ballots before anybody else did
including Judge Prosser and the Wisconsin GAB?

Because there are ACTUAL irregularities involved in the election.

And IF these irregularities are allowed to stand unchallenged, then who's to say that the recall elections that everybody is putting so much hope in, will be fair?

Stolen elections, IT SEEMS, are the price you pay for working within the system.

6.  Scott Walker has declared war. Let it be war then.

I'm all for delaying his swearing in as long as possible. The Republicans are ramming legislation because they know they're toast. They should be blocked in every legal way possible. The damage they do is too great and it can't be allowed anymore.

as he watches his pals being recalled.

12. Agreed. Time to break out the tactics of yore.
The corporate masters have been humbled before, time to do it again.

13. The BEST tactic for the working class is and
has ALWAYS been the withholding of labor. There's enough credit extended to working class people nowdays that a "payment strike" (withholding our money) could also be effective. Couple it with large demonstrations, civil disobedience and other job actions and we might get some attention.
