tomorrow evening, after dark I'm taking some old clothes to a church
and making little piles in the parking lot. When the church go-ers arrive Sunday morning, they'll think they were left out of the rapture.

What are you doing to celebrate?

1. If you wanna really freak em out...
Shoes first...then put pants on top of shoes then shirt on top of pants. That would be the order they would fall. Freak them right out.

5. Underpants should either be inside or on top of the pants.
And they shouldn't be clean.

17. Damn - I would have been more serious about diet and exercise
if I'd known there was a chance I might meet Jesus naked. Good thing I'm planning to be here on Sunday.

3. They'll think someone dumped clothes there

The belief that tomorrow is the Rapture is held by a teeny tiny little group that is held in as much contempt by most Christians as by non-Christians.

On your way in, note that if the church is of the type which posts its Sunday sermon topic on a sign out front, they have likely already planned their Sunday service, the choir is practiced, and so on.

That might provide a clue to you.

4. I don't wanna be cheated out of 7 years tribulation.
7 years of no whacko fundy Xtians sounds pretty good.

This had better not happen tomorrow, with the world ending in October.

6. The whole idea of a "Rapture" in general
is held in contempt by most mainstream Protestants and Catholics. Hell, even the Mormons don't believe in a "Rapture". This is a Jerry Falwell-esque notion that caught fire due to some clever marketing of some tediously long and boring books by a scholar who believes in Bible prophecy.

13. Thing is...

While most Evangelicals and fundies are prone to point to "signs" of the impending apocalypse, it is considered heretical to predict a date certain, as the Bible expressly states that no one knows.

They use it along the lines of "we don't know when it will happen, so don't get caught with your pants down."

8. They will think someone as ignorant as the rapturers
is trying to fool them. REAL religions and REAL churches know this is just a scam by a con artists fleecing the gullible.

16. So then, why does what I posted offend you so much that you had to resort
to calling me names? And why wouldn't "real Christians" not just think it's a funny joke? Are "real Christians" not allowed to have a sense of humor?

Why does there always have to be some indignant contrary-ian(sp?)running about attempting to ruin a silly little thread?
