Mom sues school because son was cut from band
**Yes, she's a republican**

Joan Heffington, who has run for governor and was taken to court by the attorney general, is suing Derby Public Schools because her son was cut from the marching band.

Heffington said in a lawsuit filed this week in U.S. District Court that her 17-year-old son is being denied his right to an education. She claims her son has special needs and Derby has not given him accommodations as required by law.

The focus of the lawsuit is Heffington's son, a trombone player who was cut from the marching band. Heffington is also suing Derby superintendent Craig Wilford and band director Adam DeVault.

Derby attorney Jeff Griffiths and his law firm are also being sued, after he represented the school district in a similar suit filed by Heffington in 2007. A judge dismissed that suit a year later.

1. And she got 18% of the primary vote
http://cjonline.com/interact/blog/tim_carpenter/2010-04-12/heffington_on_microchips_hospitals_the_cia_and_god

Joan Heffington, of Derby, sprinkled her speech at the Olathe Public Library with assertions of shadowy operatives installing microchips in a man's body, the detention of a guy who claimed suspected terrorists were secretly flown to the United States and the deployment of spies to infiltrate hospitals for the purpose of undermining medical care of muckrakers like herself.

. . .

Equally frustrating, she said, is lack of public outcry about infiltration of hospitals by covert operatives intent on hurting critics of the government. She claims to know of five incidents in which agents were involved in treachery in a medical facility. "They are now putting spies in hospitals to mess with your inside during surgery," Heffington said.

Heffington also spoke of an acquaintance who decided detainees had been transported to a U.S. Air Force base. The 22-year-old man was tortured for raising an alarm, she said, and infected with H1N1 due to his lack of cooperation. "They duped his mother into committing him to an insane asylum where he was nearly drugged to death," Heffington said.

. . .

She said a man walked into her office several weeks ago to complain about what happened when he refused to surrender to "them" the patent rights of his invention. He awoke several days later with a bleeding ear. She said testing revealed he had been implanted with five microchips. He had one in each ear and a matching set in both elbows, she said. "That's what they did," Heffington said.

5. If there has ever been a frivolous lawsuit
this has got to be it. Band is not a right, its a privilege and if you want it to be a "right" pay for private tutoring.

7. I feel sorry for the kid - what a nut to have as a mother
And his father died, so there's no-one else to turn to. Who knows what he actually feels about marching band, but it must be hell having such an embarrassing mother.
