3. A full gas tank is a happy gas tank.
I fill it up once every month or two.

5. The trip to the station
to purchase that one-gallon-at-a-time is going to use up a lot more gas than filling it all the way up in one shot. Even if the station is on the way to or from wherever, you are stopping and starting the engine, wasting fuel.

Check out GasBuddy -- http://www.gasbuddy.com/ -- it's your friend for finding cheap gas. I even have a GasBuddy Android app on my phone.

6. Fill up each time to save time, hassle, and to avoid the extra stops and starts
I'm going to eventually use it all anyway, right?

7. I fill up on Tuesday AM on the way to work
It seems that price increases come on Tuesday afternoon or late morning so that is the best means I have found to get the best price.

I also drive a car that gets 40+mpg.

8. Way too much hassle for way too little savings.
I just fill the damned thing up when it gets low. I don't even look at the per-gallon price because I'm going to buy it regardless.
