I called Senator Dick Durbin’s office and was referred to the EPA
I called the EPA and was referred to the NEC
I called the NEC and they require emails only
I emailed the NEC and they have not responded yet

I don’t think anyone cares

1. That will teach the person what the priorities are in this country
We have tax breaks to give to oil companies and weeks of obsessing over the IMF guy and Arnold. No need to concern ourselves with anything as unpleasant as nuclear meltdowns.

:sarcasm:

I'm surprised you haven't gotten piled on for linking to enenews site.

3. About Fukushima articles and the comment sections...
Edited on Thu May-19-11 09:54 AM by CoffeeCat
I have learned so much from reading the comment sections from Fukushima articles. The New York
Times comment sections provide a wealth of information. When the crisis first happened, many
nuclear-energy experts would comment and basically tear down the articles as disinformation and
spin from corporate energy insiders.

One commenter pointed out that the quotes in most Fukushima-related articles were from energy
lobbyists! Commenters often leave their names, credentials and experience in the energy industry,
and their expertise and identities are verified with a Google search.

The comment that you mentioned is also helpful. It demonstrates--with a real-world example--just
how much obfuscation and denial is happening in our government.

There is a complete blackout on information regarding the radioactive isotopes that are in our
food and water supplies. It is a crime against humanity, which is keeping people unaware of the
fact that they are eating and drinking cesium, radioactive iodine-131 and other cancer-causing
isotopes.

Driven by messaging from the nuclear industry--our media convinced people that the Fukushima
radiation is no more harmful than an x-ray or than flying in an airplane.

It's all bunk. You don't EAT an x-ray. We are repeatedly eating and drinking these isotopes.

Several weeks ago, the media reported that cesium and radioactive iodine were found in America, in
strawberries, mushrooms, milk, rain water and even tap water. Then...NOTHING. Then, the EPA
decided to stop testing. Radioactive materials continue to accumulate, whether or not the EPA
tests or whether or not the media reports on it.

It's just too damn bad that the corporations and our government have decided that information should
be kept from us and that they'll decide whether or not we know how radioactive our food and water is.

It's deplorable.
