An apple tree blooms at a tsunami-ravaged orchard in the Iwate Prefecture city of Rikuzentakata in this recent photo. About half of around 400 apple and pear trees here were washed away by the March 11 tsunami, while the rest were soaked with seawater. "A lot of my customers are fishermen. I will not sell apples this year. Instead, I want to give them to fishermen," an orchard owner said. (Mainichi)
