Conflicted Clarence Thomas

Clarence Thomas’ wife earned $700,000 from half the radical right-wing ideologues in Washington. Opposing health care reform was her specialty. For 13 years, Thomas didn’t disclose a penny of that income.

He’s trying to conceal a blatant conflict of interest. His family is getting rich off an issue that’s very likely to come before the Supreme Court.

May 15 was another big financial disclosure deadline – and the beginning of the next round of our fight.

These financial forms are a matter of public record, typically made available within 30 days of the filing deadline. But when a Supreme Court justice has broken the public trust repeatedly for over a decade, we deserve to know right away what conflict he has.

Stand with me to force Clarence Thomas to release his disclosure ASAP. We need to know how big a conflict Thomas is bringing every day to our Supreme Court.

42. Definitely,
Disclosure seems moot at this point. Impeachment is the next logical step, IMO.

19. K&R and forwarded to FB contacts. As for Thomas, well................
You know what really gets me heated. Thomas has the audacity to accuse his critics of causing irreparable harm to the perception of the court. That fucker needs to get a grip. The truth is the court, beginning with Bush V. Gore has caused significant damage to the court.

Thomas entire tenure on the court has been filled with great controversy, it started with his confirmation hearings. America got that vote WRONG and was yet another glaring example of a woman being dismissed in the face of a man. NOTE: Not one Woman on the Judiciary committee and if my memory is correct there were two women in the entire senate in 91. We failed Anita Hill, period.

Thomas was obviously politically appointed.

Considering his power and reputation for legislating from the bench, we should not be surprised.

Bar Association Splits on Fitness Of Thomas for the Supreme Court

By NEIL A. LEWIS
Published: August 28, 1991

The American Bar Association has given Judge Clarence Thomas a mixed rating in evaluating his fitness to be a Supreme Court Justice, officials of the group said today.

The bar association committee that conducts the evaluations split on President Bush's choice to succeed Thurgood Marshall on the Court, with a majority rating Judge Thomas "qualified" for the job and a minority of two members finding him "unqualified." No one on the committee found him to be "well qualified," the third available rating and the association's highest.

Last year the committee unanimously found Judge David H. Souter to be "well qualified" for the Supreme Court. The last nominee to receive less than unanimous support from the committee was Judge Robert H. Bork, whose nomination was defeated in 1987. The Bar's A.B.A.'s Special Role

The panel, the Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, is made up of 15 members; thus, the majority that found Judge Thomas qualified could be as many as 13, but at least one member did not participate. The bar association would not say how many took part in the evaluation process.

33. IRS hounded me for a 500$ bill for 5 yrs and in the end that
went on to be come 8g$ and they hounded me literally when I was homeless even coming into the ICU where I was nearly dead from HIV/pneumonia/ and CMV(a normally nonproblem virus, if you have an immune system it is related to hep in that it attacks your liver, kidneys and most of the time the retina of your eyes causing blindness. Dr tossed him out on his ass then went to bat for me.
I had provided all the files/ bank statements etc, but they still claimed I had not paid. The problem was that the bitch I worked for kept stealing my commissions and givin the sales to her worthless son in law.
