CA-36: Hahn will face off with Republican
Debra Bowen came just short of earning second spot in the first round of voting in the CA-36 special election. Marcy Winograd drew just enough progressive votes away to ensure that City Hall hack Janice Hahn will be the lone Democratic option against Republican Craig Huey. Brilliant opportunity wasted. Thanks a lot, Marcy.

1. Damn.
I just posted a similar thread...

I didn't think they were done counting the votes.

2. Bowen shouldn't even have run. Marcy had EARNED the progressive vote in the district
Bowen had no good reason to be in the race at all. I doubt she stood for a damn thing. It was Marcy's turn, for fuck's sake.

3. Yup and Bowen should stay in the SOS office
she just won that spot and shouldn't have even been running for this IMO.

4. They probably told her that if she leadpiped Marci she could get the nomination for gov
after Moonbeam the Prison Builder finally packs it in.

This was all about making the California Democratic Party a progressive-free zone.

7. Yeah something here stinks, I think Hann & Bowen
set out to stop Marci. I'm stick to death of these DINO's controlling everything especially in a progressive state like CA.

6. It could be the other way around and Bowen took
votes from Winograd ... so thanks Debra, you took away our chance for a REAL progressive. x(

8. Stopping Marcy is the only possible reason Bowen could have run in this race
It makes no sense for a Secretary of State to run for a lower office.
