Yes, in addition to the FASCIST whiz quiz, they also want to do a full background check and an investigative consumer report

Do they go through my credit card statements and investigate what I've purchased?

1. Not necessarily

A "consumer check" can mean, in addition to a criminal background check, just verifying your home address and driver's license info. It doesn't necessarily mean a credit score check.
