First off, she's gotten elected more than once, and in a much more populous state. Also, she hasn't resigned at the first sign of controversy. Finally, I don't think she's nearly as crazy as she lets on. I think ~some~ of it is a well-calculated act that was built on some previous not-so-calculated failures that got attention for her (especially that OMG Teh Lezbianz Gotz Me! episode)
