I, myself, have called repubicans criminals and I, myself, have been willing to overlook the misdeeds of democrats. The reality, however, is quite different. The connection between criminality and party is mostly anecdotal, with virtually no cause and effect.

That the IMF guy is a French Socialist has been thrown about with abandon by righties who wish to show that lefties are bad, and by lefties who think, because the word "Socialist" is in the guy's resume, that somehow has meaning in their endeavor to discredit those further to the left than themselves.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, if the charges prove true, is a sexual predator. The fact he is a Socialist proves absolutely nothing. If you aver otherwise, it seems pretty clear your intent is to discredit both capital "S" and lower case "s" Socialists.

1. It's more fun when some holier than thou republican gets caught sticking his weenie
someplace he shouldn't.

He may be no guiltier than a democrat but somehow it seems more deserved.

3. I totally agree
While what I said in the OP is true, there's something far more delicious when hypocrisy is involved.

Or irony.

I love irony.

:)

2. Not to worry, the French Socialist Party is a sham.

How could it be otherwise, this guy is their primo candidate and head of a capitalist monstrosity like the IMF? Same with the ruling Greek party, PASOK, capitalist collaborationist. The 'Socialists' tag in itself don't been much, many of those parties have lost touch with the street. But not to worry, the real Reds are back.

4. I agree completely
Which makes the OP more true. There can be no other reason to cite the guy's party with "SOCIALIST" writ large, than to discredit liberals.

5. As though liberals or phony socialists need discrediting...

They both serve the same purpose, the pretend representatives of the masses.
