I spent literally an hour researching a rebuttal and it was apparently not approved. GRRRR It's late here and I have an early morning but wanted to know how many are getting this kind of stuff already?

1. Saw it in one other paper
A Google search for the headline doesn't reveal much outside of Hawai'i, but I did see the headline from The Bradenton Herald (FL) while I was browsing through my RSS reader in search of education news.

Why not post the response here? I'm sure some here will receive the article link in messages from right-wing acquaintances.

9. I didn't save it! Can't do it again, long long day and too tuckered.
Lesson learned...save that stuff in a file. Arrrrgh. Tx4Obama gave me a lot of good suggestions., and I used them, along w other data.

2. This article refers to a report from the trustees who oversee SS and Medicare.
There are six trustees including Geithner, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue. I wouldnt blame AP.

6. I agree the title is a bit misleading but the body of the article refers to the report.
Virtually all media use sensational/exaggerated headlines to catch eyeballs.

7. They must believe the UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS PERMANENT
They are telling us all the unemployed will stay that
way or if they get jobs they will be very close to minimum
wage.

They are telling us there is not going to be a recovery
with jobs that pay enough taxes to keep Medicare going.

Or is there collusion, to put Ryan's Plan into effect and
they must scare the BEJEEBUS out of people so they can
be manipulated.

This is why the Tea Party rebelled--no trust.

This sudden cry by Geithner tells me Obama is going to cave.

8. It's the headline most egregious, and that's probably the Star-Advertiser
The Trustees did revise their numbers, but they only adjusted Social Security by one year; in another year it may be adjusted back again. The headline is pure sensationalism. That's what's most offensive.
