My son is flying into Beijing in an hour
Wish him luck. It's his first real business trip, and he's excited/scared/nervous!

1. I wish him luck and good fortune.
I also wish him to understand one of the major difficulties with dealing with that particular different culture; in our world, the contract is the end of negotiations. In their world, it is the beginning.

3. He's going to have some great stories stories for you when he comes home.
Just flying into the "dragon" kind of takes your breath away and that's just when you hit the ground. He'll have all kinds of challenges with taxi drivers, food, bad hotels and this weird odor that you can never seem to escape. It's an amazing place and I hope he has a great time.

4. Tell him to get plenty of rest when he lands...
I'm sure his arms will be tired.

Oh, and good luck to him!

9. I suspect he will be pleasantly surprised that a lot of nonsense the MSM spouts off about China, is
not as accurate as many here would like to believe

It should be an extraordinary experience for him

11. I was there last Oct.
Our pilot had to fly instruments in the middle of the afternoon! Smog so bad.

Your son will be fine, so try not to worry.

Btw, there is at least one DUer living there: HeyHey.
