Winners and losers, week #2
Winners and losers for the week.
Winners;
1, Barack Obama. Still basking in the glow of the killing of Osama Bin Laden, and with the Republicans still in disarray in trying to give everyone but Obama credit, the president goes merrily along. Buoyed by first time unemployment filers dropping considerably, the economy seems to be picking up, although still way too many people are out of work. This has got to be the biggest area for Obama to tackle.

2, Democrats. The party got two gifts this week in two men who decided to thrown their hats into the ring and announce their runs for president. Already, Newt Gingrich is being criticized by social conservatives for his cheating ways, and Ron Paul just has to open his mouth to get himself into trouble. Hardly anything for Obama to really worry about.

3, John Mc.Cain. while the guy maybe a loon a lot of the time, (certainly was for picking Sarah Palin for VP), he took to the floor of the Senate earlier this week to denounce torture as a way to get info from terrorists. Mc.Cain got it right when he said that torture, such as water boarding, does not work because after a while, the person being tortured will tell you anything to make it stop. I applaud Sen. McCain because he definitely knows what he's talking about on this issue.

Losers;
1, John Ensign. We got the word this week that if Ensign didn't resign from his Senate seat, he would have been censured and probably thrown out of the Senate. Now we get word that others may have helped Ensign try to sweep this under the rug. I have a feeling this story isn't over yet, and more Republican heads may roll here. Let's hope so.

2, Fukushima Daiichi plant. One of the reactors at the plant suffered a full nuclear meltdown. Workers at the site saw a pool of molten fuel at the bottom of the reactors containment vessel. Also the top five feet of the core's 13 foot long fuel rods had been exposed to the air and melted down. Not a good situation to be sure.

3, Big Oil companies. The heads of the five biggest oil companies had the gall to go to Capitol Hill this week to complain about what Senate Democrats were proposing to do and that is limit their tax breaks. These rotten bastards are making record profits, and yet they argue that they need those tax breaks because without them, it would undercut jobs and economic growth. What a bunch of bullshit!!! These companies simply don't want to pay their fair share. If anybody needs to be bitch-slapped into reality, it's these crooks, who take us for all their worth and don't think twice about it.

1. Add to losers:
The forty-one repubbie freshman elected with teabagger support. They wined about Obama and asked him to call off the dogs. They want their plan to destroy Medicare kept secret from the voters. Poor babies!
