The McCain Family Has Had Enough of Glenn Beck

Meghan took to her Daily Beast blog to thank Beck "for helping me spread the word about a serious condition" and suggested that Beck "should really see a doctor because it isn’t normal to vomit for that long." She let Beck have it when she commented on his show being cancelled.

Don’t you think that’s a sign you should be pulling it back a little? I mean, if you’re too conservative and outrageous for Fox, that should tell you something. There really is no need to make something like my participation in a skin-cancer PSA into a sexist rant about my weight and physical appearance, because I’m going to let you in on a little secret, Glenn: you are the only one who looks bad in this scenario, and at the end of the day you have helped me generate publicity for my skin-cancer PSA, a cause that I feel quite passionate about.

Meghan sarcastically notes that "as a person who is known for his hot body, you must find it easy to judge the weight fluctuations of others, especially young women," but urges that "next time, instead of jumping straight to the 'Meghan McCain fat jokes,' maybe try out some new material. Because the fat-joke thing, it's been done so many times, I know a creative intellect such as yourself can do better than that."

Mom Cindy came to Meghan's defense tweeting, "I'm so glad Glenn Beck is leaving Fox. Enough vitriol and hate. Glenn you are no rodeo clown. They are decent and nice. You aren't." Meghan's father John, on the other hand, was a little more reluctant to lash out at the Fox host. When asked by CNN's John King how he felt about Beck's insult, he opted not to "dignify that kind of behavior with a comment." He did, however, mention that he felt he could "relate more closely to Harry Truman, who took some umbrage at a critic who criticized his daughter's singing." King explains that McCain was referring to Truman's letter to that critic, which read, "Someday I hope to meet you, when that happens you will need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps, a supporter below."

20. That Truman story is true (and funny.)

While he was President his daughter got to have a singing performance in the spotlight somewhere in DC. The next day a columnist ripped her vocal talents a new one. Truman actually penned a letter with the above quotes.

Later in years he was interviewed abotu it and he said "If I had the chance I was going to kick his balls in." LOL.

Also, another little known fact about Truman. When he was spearheading some campaign financing for Roosevelt (before he was his VP) he was working a room with Joe Kennedy. Kennedy apparently told Truman that Roosevelt sucked and he shouldn't associate himself with such a looser. Truman, in front of a group of people, told Kennedy if he said it again he was going to throw him out a window. Truman's handlers sort of rushed him out of the room.

The guy was small but he wasn't to be fucked with.
