Date set for Gov. Christie’s meeting with Iowa donors
Late last year New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said nothing "short of suicide" would convince people he will not run for president in 2012.

But some prominent Iowa Republican donors will be flying to New Jersey to meet with Christie to convince him to re-evaluate his life.

Christie still says he doesn’t want to run. But he has agreed to meet with the Iowa group that wants to talk him into running for president on May 31st.

The New Jersey governor has said on numerous occasions that he doesn’t want the job. NorthJersey.com reports that he said on a radio interview Monday morning, "I'm a kid from Jersey who has people asking him to run for president, I'm thrilled by it. I just don't want to do it."

According to recent polls taken in April, Christie isn’t exactly getting a Presidential endorsement from his home state. According to an Associated Press report in the Courier Post, six out of ten residents don't believe Christie when he says he could beat President Obama.

7. As a current NJ resident....
I say that's just not true. He's still fairly popular here, except among any unionized employees (teachers, cops, etc). But a still scarily sizable amount of people here, especially the wealthy love the guy.

Even my parents who are for the most part very liberal and life long Democrats (but who are also very well off) like him and agree with his approach. I've given up trying to argue with them on the topic.

2. Hahahaha Bring it ON Christie....
I will be popping popcorn with EXTRA butter (as Christie would like it) to watch a debate between our President and this clown.

This is gonna be a fun season. President Obama is going to slice and dice these losers!

3. It's sad. So often they create a national hype and........
end up actually believing it.

4. I know I'm repeating myself. I heard third hand from a state senator that Christie wants to be
drafted at the Convention. His rationale is no particular candidate will garner enough votes to be nominated. And he'll arrange for a "spontaneous" groundswell of delegates to "draft" him and ultimately try to nominate him. Christies saves time and money needed to primary and campaign to the Convention, and then the RNC picks up the tab if he is nominated. Cheap bastard, duplicitous, and hypocritical.
