Osama bin Who Gives a Fuck
Enough already, I'm sooo finished with this story already. I'm more concerned with the prospect of this nation sliding to Third World status in the next generation.

As the population is circling the toilet drain... corporations continue to exploit people. The government has done nothing to bring the nation (nothing effective) back from the grip of the 2008-2009 recession. The only difference between today and 1932 is the speed of the printing presses and China's credit card.

Where I live (45 min north of LA) we had a Ralphs store 5 minutes from my house. It closed down last week. That's teh 3rd grocery store to close down in my city of 120K since January. That's a Vons, a Ralphs and an Albertsons. When I go to the little strip center for Subway the strip mall is literally 50% vacant. 50%. Vons LEFT. Blockbuster LEFT. All the Mon/Pops LEFT. There's something REALLY wrong out there and there's no speculative internet e-biz bubble or imaginary real estate bubble to save us.

3. People leading the slide into Third World status were business partners with bin Laden clan.

4. Do you expect the tens of thousands of people who knew someone
he killed to agree with you?

6. They can mourn the past while also worrying about the future.
At least they should. As this country slides lower and lower a fuckload more than 3,000 people are being affected, in essence killed by bad economic conditions. Do you know how many people die each year due to poverty related issues?

Death is death, whether delivered by nutbags in airplanes or by the lack of concern over where we're heading as a nation. But one is going to kill a lot more than the other, and already has. And it isn't the terrorists. Those who knew someone killed on 9/11 aren't immune from the effects of where this country is heading, and it isn't an either/or proposition between being glad Osama is dead and being concerned about where we're going as a country.

12. Of course. But I'm glad for all this publicity now.
It's favorable to Obama and increases his popularity -- and thus his ability to get other things done.

9. Maybe the hundreds of thousands who know someone who died due to lack of insurance would rather us
focus on health care.

13. A couple weeks of pro-Obama media attention related to OBL
will make it easier for Obama to accomplish everything that is important to us.

7. I hate these "why don't you stop talking about" threads.
What is the point of a post on a Discussion Board asking people to stop discussing something?

Unrec.

8. +1. ENOUGH. We need relevant information. In less we're intent on war with Pakistan, this isn't news
anymore. It's an ongoing sideshow that distracts us from real issues, including security issues.

10. Actually that is why it is relevant...we need to know what was going on with OBL and Pakistan
The relevance is the intel.

15. We're in a very complicated situation with both Pakistan
and Afghanistan -- no matter what.

This isn't a sideshow because Al Queda is still a threat.
