Thank you for all the "get well" and advice on my staph (MRSA) infection

I saw the infectious disease specialist today. I'll be home the rest of the week. He added 2 more meds and a gallon of the liquid soap you use before surgery etc. I'll be home from work the rest of the week. I will have missed 3 weeks of work from this. I see him again next Monday. I'm much better than I was Sunday.

Thank you all for being there for me.

OS

2. Gads, Steve! Quit screwing around and get better!
Pack it with some peat moss, let the dog lick it, and hire a witch.

And don't forget the liquid soap and the meds.

3. Steve you are winning the lottery, as it were
try to win the actual lottery and not this one.

Oh and if Martha helps you with that, I am sure they told you, follow sterile techniques, You do not want to give it to her.

Get healthy.

12. I wish you a speedy and full recovery!
My partner contracted MRSA while in hospital ICU years ago and they used Vancomycin to clear it.

13. I don't have MRSA, but I have a staph infection
It has NOT been fun. However, I'm humbly grateful it seems to be healing. I'm probably about another week out till it's gone. Ladies: If you use a disposable razor, replace them frequently.

:woohoo:

My thoughts are with you for a full, quick and complete recovery.

15. My Wife Contracted It
From, of all things, a cat scratch. Got into the bone around the first knuckle of her right hand.

She was on the antibiotic drip for weeks, but part of that is it's so hard to get enough of the medicine to a bone, since there isn't much direct blood flow.

Good luck. She's fine and has had no lasting effects. The medicine screwed up her GI system for a while, but she's been fine for a long time.

In isolation for two weeks, then on the drip at home for two more weeks...

I feel for you.
