Masudur Rahman and Mohamed Zaghloul, two Muslim religious leaders, were removed from a Delta Airlines flight bound from Memphis to Charlotte because the pilot said that he refused to fly if those men were on board. Ironically enough, both men were traveling to Charlotte to attend a conference about Islamophobia.

Hmm, here's something that Fox News/former NPR political analyst Juan Williams said in October 2010: "when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

WSOC-TV in Charlotte reports that US Airways Captain James Ray, also leader of the pilots' union for that airline, defended that still-unnamed Delta pilot and said: "I can promise you the captain didn't throw those people off because of the way they were dressed. There's more to the story."
