Hispanics seek halt to enforcement tactic
Edited on Sat May-07-11 06:15 PM by The Northerner
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is adding its voice to those who want the federal government to stop checking fingerprints of people booked at local and state jails to find immigrants who can be deported.

WASHINGTON — The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is adding its voice to those who want the federal government to stop checking fingerprints of people booked at local and state jails to find immigrants who can be deported.

The caucus has written a letter to President Barack Obama asking him to freeze the fingerprint searching program known as Secure Communities. The letter was sent on Thursday.

Through Secure Communities, the FBI shares with the Homeland Security Department fingerprints that local and state law enforcement have sent to the FBI to get criminal histories. The Homeland Security Department checks the prints against its immigration records to identify people illegally in the country or who can be forced to leave the U.S.

The Hispanic lawmakers had asked Obama earlier this week to focus immigration resources on criminals.

1. Why not catch the fingerprints of Canadians, or Austrailians?
No offense to anyone Canadian or Australian, but this is BS. Because people who are Hispanic have a look other that white to them, they can be easily culled.

Once again...ashamed of stupid White people, to quote Frank Zappa,

"I'm not Black, but there's a whole lot of times I wish I could say I'm not White."

Everyone's fingerprints are sent by the FBI to Homeland Security. Did you think it was just Hispanics? You can go find something else to be ashamed of because you are white.
