Capitalism: A new dark age?
I've been saying for years that the ultra-rich are seeking to destroy the middle class and create a situation in the US with, basically, the ultra-rich at the top and the rest of us as disposable labor (or worse).

Looking at Enron's schemes and now the Koch brothers, adding in the term disaster capitalism and understanding that it is being used -against- the United States without qualm or compassion, my question is, are we entering a new dark age of sorts, or will we kick the hegemonists the fuck out, post haste?

1. Your question is probably the most important question facing
the human race today. Keep hammering it. Thanks.

2. The class distinctions are entrenching themselves
All over the world - Latin America brews it's own uber capitalist, middle east, etc.

I can't see how all this ends - & probably won't in my life time.

But I have doubts about America breaking the chain.

4. It's international. Look at the Iraq oil grab by Bush and their OPEC pals.
They long ago provided weaponry to both Iran and Iraq, knowing they'd fight each other hopefully into the stone age. Then we could march in and "help" them...Iraq had to have a little assist with that, and Iran have been smart enough to defend themselves. Iran is the remaining non OPEC aligned top 5 oil reserve nation. For how long?

The capitalists are playing the world economy. Wolfowitz, the head of the World Bank? Fox guarding the henhouse, for example.

there were some sunny days in there too, now and then. Like um. Like...

Hey how about that Norman Conquest, huh? There was a big bright lettered day. That sure showed everybody who wore the pants tunics in northern Europe!

it' s just what they call "market forces" at work, or historical forces, very gradually bringing - historically - above-average labor costs back down to average. a capitalist government can't get ahead of market forces - much less history - anymore than it can get ahead of the weather. all it can do is adjust to changing conditions and try to preserve social peace, which is what democrats want to do (and what hasn't even crossed republicans' minds for some reason)

8. A dark age in more ways than one.
The current Roman Empire (U.S.A.) is honestly in decline and I don't know how much longer it can last if it stays on the path its headed. The question is this: Do we choose for ourselves a people a new dark age or a new age of enlightenment?
