1. I just watched the speech. The guy absolutely captivates me
and I'm noticing how they seem to love him. Good to see a vigilant and visible Secret Service, too. Don't mess with the Secret Service!

11. I live a few miles from Ft. Campbell
Airforce One just left the ground.
Over the decades (I grew up here and recently moved back), whenever the President(s) have come to Ft. Campbell, this place (Clarksville, TN) is crawling with Secret Service. I don't know about "these days" but in the past they loved to party and you could find them in the lounge of their Hotel(s) letting loose. This place was packed today. President Obama seemingly got a good reception. Forget trying to get on Post unless you had a sticker and were prepared to be "sniffed."

16. That reminds me of Hunter Thompson's story about hanging out with the Secret Service
and getting to open the trunk of one of their cars. Apparently they keep some serious shit back there.

3. Yes. Isn't that interesting.
I think his support among the military is growing. He actually supports them.

15. Just for the record, it was a real turkey. HOWEVER, the troops didn't get to eat it.
It might as well have been plastic since it was nothing more than a prop. It was prepared hours in advance and prettied up for the photo-op the same way they do for those fast food ads that show a beautiful burger that looks nothing like the slapped together wad of snot you'll actually get at the fast food joint.

But your point is great. Those troops are clearly excited to have Obama there. Then there were the "aw shit, man. We've got to pose with the fucking shrub?" looks whenever Dubya showed up.

17. Also notice the crowd of troops isn't photoshopped.
Remember when Bush pulled that shameless stunt?
