Just watched Face the Nation don't miss it!
Edited on Sun Jan-02-11 11:01 AM by LEW
Wiener, Wasserman, Bachman and a new Rep from Penn. I love Anthony and the great take downs of Bachman the new guy. If you have fooled yourself into thinking over the holidays that 2011 will not be like 2010 in the congress (like I have), this show today blew that out of the water.

4. I wouldn't have watched it 'til I read your post.
But, in Denver, Face the Nation was pre-empted by some fucking special on the Denver Broncos. But, I guess that's better TV. Why do people need to be informed about the political process when they can tell us all about losing football teams?

5. It always surprises me when republicans bring up cost of health care bill
that no one points out that the CBO estimate is that it will cut deficit $138 billion in first 10 years and cut the deficit by $1.3 trillion over the second ten year period.

It use to surprise me that the TV interviewer never pointed it out but it shocks me how few congressional Dems do. I love both Dems on today but they didn't point that out either. Instead they brought up cost of republican things or some good things bill is doing now.
Those are fine things but the financial part should be stressed and be common knowledge.

We really are not good at "spin", even when we are just having to tell the truth! Republicans get their lies out better than we do the truth
And these guys are two of our best

7. I think the new guy's name is Mike Kelly...tea party!
For those who didn't watch it's worth waiting for a video or transcrpt...I've been looking but nothing it up yet, because at one point Wasserman-Schultz, Weiner and even Harry Smith, today's moderator, were laughing....Weiner told Kelly this is "an adult game" now! Bachmann proudly supported her "no" for the extension of unemployment benefits and can't see herself voting to raise the level of the debt ceiling...

"Obama-Care will bankrupt the country." direct quote of Bachmann...I'm watching my DVR recording. I wish I could upload it...

8. But did you notice, not one of them brought up the money being wasted in Afghanistan & Iraq
if there was true concern about the deficit these two items would be at the top of the list of things to cut.
