UPDATE: Motorcyclist injured in crash (was at fault)

Not Marta nor I wished this driver harm any harm. She commented yesterday when she got to work he will have a bad accident someday. But his driving habits on the road obviously contributed to his accident today. It is not often a biker rear ends an auto etc.

Update: http://www.omaha.com/article/20110505/NEWS01/705059878#motorcyclist-injured-in-crash

A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition Thursday following a crash with a sport utility vehicle.

The crash happened about 7 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Kennedy Freeway near the Railroad Avenue overpass. It brought traffic to a near standstill.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the motorcyclist, Roger Lowis, 45, of Bellevue, was taken to Creighton University Medical Center. The patrol said Lowis, who was wearing a helmet, suffered leg injuries.

Lowis and the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe were traveling north when a disabled vehicle caused heavy morning traffic to slow, and Lowis ran into the rear of the Tahoe, the patrol said.

2. I righted your wrong...
as a survivor of a bad motorcycle accident, I know it is usually the car at fault but I see reckless cyclists sometimes and just shake my head... especially on the interstate when the biker is speeding in and out of tight traffic... so sad

3. Someone I went to high school with is dead
because of a motorcycle accident in which they are pretty sure he was at fault. The thing is, he would probably still be alive if he had been wearing a helmet.

5. She drives in a top rated for safety Chevy Equinox

Hard for a bike to hurt her. My Cobalt isn't as safe and the insurance rates show it. But my average MPG hangs around 28-30 on 10% ethanol blend gas. I have hit 34 when driving highway only. A few MPG less in the winter months.

6. I saw this accident this morning
I thought the guy was dead. He was not moving. The SUV just had a broken taillight. Backed up traffic for miles.
