House Speaker John A. Boehner Says Some U.S. Troops Should Stay in Iraq

Some Troops Should Stay in Iraq, Speaker Says
By CARL HULSE
May 4, 2011

After a high-level trip to Iraq, House Speaker John A. Boehner said on Tuesday that he would support keeping a contingent of troops in Iraq beyond the end of the year, when all American forces are scheduled to be withdrawn.

Mr. Boehner, in an interview with news organizations, said he reached that decision after meetings with American military and diplomatic officials in Iraq as well as conversations with Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki that convinced him of looming gaps in Iraqi security arrangements.

“I think Iraq is critical to our immediate and long-term national security interests,” said Mr. Boehner, who also visited Pakistan and Afghanistan over the spring Congressional recess. He added that too much had been invested “to simply just walk away.”

3. It's seems like a joke to hear any of them posture
on matters of international politics or security after Obama's big week.

4. Good thing Boehner doesn't set foreign policy...
Looks like the dumbshit Repubs want to get out in front on foreign policy to dim Obama's spotlight a little.

Hey, Boehner! You had eight years to get Osama and you fucked up! Now stop trying to play like you're relevant!

6. Well, he's wrong about everything else,
so it makes perfect sense he'd say a stupid thing like that.

We need to get OUT of that part of the world and we need to tax the hell out of the rich to provide seed money for non petroleum energy research and development.

Carter was right. It's nearly destroyed us that the next 4 presidents didn't listen to him and the present one is stymied by a bunch of old fossils in Congress.
