Marijuana Grew Near Bin Laden Compound
High-strength marijuana plants have been found just yards from the luxury home of slain terror chief Osama Bin Laden.
Hundreds of the exotic green flower have flourished for a number of years on the border of the war lord's secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

1. As if we needed any further proof that marijuana is evil.
:sarcasm:

I'm sure the resident cannabis crusader is going to be here any minute to tell us how this shows that it needs to remain illegal.

5. Oh noes, not the "HIGH-STRENGTH" marijuana!....
What utter shit. Here comes the further demonization of pot smokers by associating them to OBL. Good Lord.

8. LOL @ "exotic green flower"
I wonder what other fascinating and controversial plants were growing near this den of evil. Tomatoes? Okra? Dandelions? Thistles? The mind quails.

9. Don't know about OBL, but there are people who don't like pot, no matter how much is available.
My Dad tried it when we kids were teenagers and he preferred alcohol. My son doesn't like it. Lots of people have the same attitude toward pot that they have toward alcohol. They can take or leave it.

I've had a bottle of 30 year old scotch sitting in the cabinet ever since my 2nd spouse passed on (we toasted him). I may dump it out someday.

13. Maybe it's mostly vulnerable types who are afraid of pot. Wonder how many are on prescription
psychotropics.

21. Oh, geeze, don't do that - gift it to someone who will appreciate it.
And just because someone can take it or leave it, it doesn't follow that they must work to deny it to those who like it.

23. Yeah, I have a couple of cigar-smoking nephews who'd probably appreciate it. &
I was trying to make that point: people think they have to deny stuff to others, because they can't handle it themselves, and that's wrong.

Turn on a tv, we ADVERTISE mind altering substances ALL OF THE TIME. People BRAG about drinking & sincerely discuss the comparative merits of the "prescription" anti-depressants and mood regulators of various kinds. Our hypocrisy about pot, just pisses LOTS of people off and gets in the way of raising functional adults who can live around this stuff and NOT use it as a crutch in order to avoid solving problems they have with their lives.

And don't EVEN get me going about the OPIATE known as religion.

10. Osama should have leaked this story BEFORE. The SEALS may have given him a break.

Imagine them saying: "We just stopped by to sample your high-grade "Abottabad Purple" bro.

15. Not me. Back when, I always had somekind of counter-reaction to pot, it made me
hyper attentive and kinetic. I think that's why my son doesn't like it. I'd clean house like a fiend.

I also couldn't take amphetamines, because I'd literally space out so far that I couldn't find my way from one second to the next.

has the Obama administration given any explanation at all as to why they continue to raid medical marijuana dispensaries in direct contradiction to Obama's campaign promise and the Holder memo?

During the raid. Good thing Osama's dead, Holder would have arrested him for cultivation. Prescription or not.

28. Grows wild

From Sohaib Athar (@reallyvirtual):

"Weed (wild strains) is VERY common in this part of Pakistan and grows naturally. A lot of people don’t know it as a drug, but ask the kids in Islamabad and they will tell you how foreigners roam around collecting it."
