Just lost it on Facebook.
Anyone who has a Facebook account or frequents a message board knows what I'm talking about. Friends, family, anonymous. There is always that smart-ass remark whenever Obama or the Democratic Party do anything remotely positive or successful. It is thinly veiled racism or sexism or just plain stupidity.

"Obamacare"
"Those damn union workers are overpaid and lazy."
"Where's the long form?"
"Thank you Pres. Bush for staying vigilant all these years."
"Obama didn't take out bin Laden. Those brave soldiers did. He just happened to be in the White House when they found him."

I couldn't take it anymore! I snapped! "I could stands all i could stands, and I couldn't stands it no more!"
My rant was long and full of expletives and would definitely not fit a tweet. Will it change anyone's mind? Probably not, but it feels good to vent once in awhile. And if I embarrassed someone or just made them think for one second, then maybe it was worth it.
This must be what it was like those final years before the fall of the Roman Empire.

1. You don't "tweet" on Facebook
They're two different things

3. not really
people often post one or two lines on FB from their raspberry or something. The moral equivalent of a tweet.

6. If you're using a social media tool bar and tabbed browsing, it's just a copy&paste from one to the
other.

5. I do it anyway, not just for the lurkers, but also to give and get talking points.
There ARE certain posters that, when I see their avatars, I don't even read them, unless I'm feeling mean.

7. The last one is easily countered. Obama ordered SEAL team 6 in to kill Osama.
Without that order, nobody, at least on that team, would've killed the person.

8. Another DUer was arguing just tonight that any President, even Bush,
would have made exactly the same decision as Obama did.

How anyone could come to that conclusion is beyond me.

9. They're playing "seven steps to Kevin Bacon" on this
Edited on Wed May-04-11 02:10 AM by JohnnyRingo
If you say Obama sent in the seals, they make two or three jumps and end up at "Bush told the Seals where he was". If you tell them Obama's NSC discovered the compound, they counter with "Bush interrogated KSM in an enhanced fashion that revealed the location. Finally, if you point out the timeline, they end with "Obama's birth certificate is a forgery anyway".

This is no doubt the reason the White House released photos of Obama engaged in conference with the intel team, but if someone refuses to look, it doesn't exist.

11. Actually, I believe two previous presidents missed opportunities
to end the mystique and life of Osama Bin Laden: Clinton (the technology available was not reliable) and Bush (just not paying attention at Tora Bora).

12. And it's a great example of what happens when the bad guy gets away
He lives to kill again and again. So maybe it's a good thing he was stopped this time.
