Idea! ONE of the things we really, really need right now
since ALOTTA people watch the teevee, not me personally....but whatever....

is a good DETECTIVE show.

How many of us learned a LOT from TV shows like Marcus Welby (medical), Dragnet (police/detective), Perry Mason (the LAW).

Emergency!!!....teaching people about paramedics and their benefits (doctors were initially miffed at the affront to their stature) Hell, before EMERGENCY people were transported to the hospital in glorified station wagons. You got NO HELP until you reached the hospital. People FOUGHT against the idea of EMT's until the TV show EMERGENCY came along.

Who else remembers this?

And if it all happened 'before your time', who else can appreciate this?

10. "Justified"
Edited on Tue May-03-11 01:52 PM by EC
just had a good one that showed the fight against the coal mines in the South, about how the land owners just want to sell their land and get the hell outta there and the people left there don't want all the pollution etc, that comes with mountain top removal.

On edit: and "Law and Order" is good at showing both sides of the law and what unforseen problems can arise from not well thought out laws (like the drug laws)

12. No TV!!!!
That said...

As a kid I loved Columbo and Barretta. Didn't get into the hospital shows until St. Elsewhere and Chicago Hope. Also, too, and...loved Hill Street Blues until their last season.

Now? Meh. I stalk forums until I get bored and then play computer games. If the sun is still up, I stroke my Kindle and make it entertain me.
