The Bushies changed it to "Osama" because they didn't like the USA at the beginning of his name. Seriously. Look it up.

5. I hesitate to make any declarative statement on the spelling of names
written in other languages.

The letter you maintain is actually an 'o' is not an 'o'. It represents a phoneme that we represent with the shape 'o'.

The Fox that calls him Usama is the national news network. The fox that recently substituted Obama for Osama is a local news station of the Fox Entertainment network.
