Bin Laden buried at sea---CNN....(WTF....?)

"DNA matching is under way on samples from the body of the slain terrorist leader, the official said. There are photographs of the body with a gunshot wound to the side of the head that shows an individual who is not unrecognizable as bin Laden, the official said.

No decision has yet been made on whether to release the photographs and if so, when and how."

"Bin Laden's body was later buried at sea, an official said.
Many Muslims adhere to the belief that bodies should be buried within one day."

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/05/02/bin.laden.dead/index.html?hpt=T1&iref=BN1

they kill him in the foothills of Pakistan and then take his body to "sea" where it is disposed of????
According to the usual "un-named official">

Biggest story in 10 years and the body is....gone.

and what does this sentence really mean:
"an individual who is not unrecognizable as bin Laden"

1. If they buried him on land, it would become a shrine for radicals.
They had no choice but to bury him at sea. Seriously...think about it.

6. One claimed reason for the sea burial was that...
... there would be a problem with other countries accepting the remains.

11. I'm sure they could have found a place that would accept his remains.
Bury him here in the U.S.

Every state should get a little piece of him to bury. Maybe with a spitoon and a dance floor.

8. And not releasing photos for the same reason.
I just heard that they don't want his image to be used as a martyr / recruiting tool.

2. They said it's very clear in the photos/video that it's him.
Burial at sea means no shrine/terrorist propaganda site.

3. It means he had to be buried asap according to Islamic law. And Two, it means

that the body is definitely that of Bin Laden's.

We've had his DNA stored for years now, waiting for this day. Hair and saliva samples from Bin Laden family members have been stored for years.

5. Maybe buried at sea, maybe not
Don't count on 100% truthfulness from the government. They could easily just say that for expediency.... too make it appear that they are adhering to Muslim tradition.
