Face it...Bush would have had bin Laden stuffed & mounted, just like Roy Rogers did with Trigger.

Face it...Bush would have had bin Laden stuffed & mounted, just like Roy Rogers did with Trigger.
Then he'd have him driven around to state fairs all over the U.S.

You'd pay $5 and go in a tent and there'd be photos of Bush on his ranch, clearin' brush and drivin' around in his pickup in his ten gallon hat and posters of slogans in big red letters like "WANTED: Dead or Alive" and "He Could Run But He Could Not Hide" and "How You Like Me Now...BOO-YA!"

After a couple years of that he'd be driven back to a permanent exhibit at the George W. Bush Pretzel-Dential Lie-Berry, but you'd still have to pay an extra fiver to see him, but you could also pay ANOTHER five to have your picture taken with him, and for $200, you could pose for a picture with bin Laden AND former Vice President Dick Cheney.

1. Then why did he pull the troops out of Afghanistan when they were so close to getting Bin Laden?

Why did he send them to Iraq instead?

I think he found it more useful to keep Bin Laden out there -- justifying his colored alert system, which he used repeatedly when it helped him politically. The one time he might have liked to have gotten Bin Laden was probably right before the 2004 election, but by then he'd lost him.

2. Yep...I remember that tacky shit they did with the alerts!
It was so disgusting and transparent, but of course
that was the time when the media didn't ask questions....
Now, after election of 2008, everything is suspicious to them!

3. He went for the low-hanging fruit instead.
Saddam didn't spend a lot of time in caves, and even when he took up semi-permanent residence in his spider hole, it was easy enough to bribe someone from his inner circle to turn his ass in.

I know Bush needed a boogeyman, and bin Laden was it.

But last night I thought about the "dramatic pause" press conference when Saddam was caught..."we GOT him"...and if bin Laden had been killed on Bush's "watch," I really believe it would have been the sideshow to end all sideshows.
