I spoke to so many young people about labor at an IWW May Day rally
Edited on Sun May-01-11 07:32 PM by Omaha Steve

It was wonderful to see so many college age youths at a pro union rally. But then their age group is getting hit bad by the economy etc. Somebody asked if I am Omaha Steve? He reads the DU but isn't registered.

Anyway I talked about how unions have twice won my legal fights for me. Once through the NLRB system, and once by settling before binding arbitration was scheduled to have a hearing.

I also talked about Maria and how she died so people can enjoy a cheap bottle of Two Buck Chuck.

After the speakers finished we marched for several blocks yelling slogans and singing Solidarity Forever.

I had a blast.

Edit for those that don't know about Maria: http://www.ufw.org/_board.php?mode=view&b_code=cre_leg_back&b_no=4444

6. I just got a nice thank you from the IWW

I think the thank you should be from me to the IWW. The IWW learned of me from a DU post about Starbucks firing IWW workers in Omaha.
