rules confusion

Having posts deleted or locked is such a normal part of my DU experience I normally don't bother to question it, but this particular post has me confused: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=9575604&mesg_id=9575756
If you could explain the infraction, it might help me avoid going there again.

1. I went and checked the moderators' discussion of the post.

And it appears that they removed it as a personal attack. I guess, if we are to narrowly interpret the rule, then it was not really a personal attack. But I think there may be a point when a post is rude enough that it feels personal. Apparently calling someone's post "sad, nonsensical, bullshit" qualifies.

We can quibble about the narrow interpretation of the rules, but I think we'd agree that the post doesn't exactly promote thoughtful and respectful discussion.

2. I appreciate you looking into it

In lieu of clear guidelines, I guess I'll just do my best to intuit the moderators' arbitrary interpretation of civility.
