Can you please explain the "Mark" function?

That little guy. For the life of me, I can't figure out exactly what it does, other than change the color of the icons on a forum thread list. Also I have no idea whether or not I can turn it off once I've clicked it.

Also, is there a way to highlite new posts to busy threads. What I mean is, if there is a thread that is starting to take off and I've read through it when it had ...say 50 posts. I back out of the thread or go to the Latest Threads page and leave my computer for a while. Is there a way that the new posts (after the first 50 in the thread that I've already read) can be highlited in some way?

If I only want to read those posts that have been added since I closed the thread, the only way currently that I am aware of is simply by post number. I realize this might not be earth shattering in importance, but if when I logged back into a thread and could easily see all the new posts since I was there last, it would save a lot of time and make it easier to either read the subthread that is all new, or avoid having to scroll through such a subthread because I might not be interested.

Make sense?

I've got several other suggestions as well, but I don't want to make too much work for Elad!

One would be an expansion of the abilities of the "buddy" capabilities.

Thanks for your consideration and thanks for adding this forum again.

1. The mark function...
...changes all the posts (and forums) from yellow to white.

Then, any messages posted *after* you clicked "mark" will appear as yellow. Which would help you with your "highlight new posts to busy threads" problem. Unfortunately, you can only mark forums, not single threads.

2. OK, got ya. Is there a way to "unmark"?
Can I turn it off? Or do I have to log off and log back in to get it to reset?

3. I am not aware of any way to unmark.

4. OK. One more question if I may....
Is it possible to put a "Preview" feature in the Private Message function? I've noticed all the HTML codes work in DU PM's but there is no preview feature to make sure nothing was forgotten, such as the /i to end an Italics segment.

Is that something easily done?

Thanks for your prompt answer to my question.
