So why was this entire subthread expunged?

and why did the locking message make an editorial comment that anyone who read the subthread understands as a slam on those of us who were part of the subthread? For the record, the subthread devolved only after several constructive interchanges. Removing the entire thread leaves the impression that ThatsMyBarack had an invalid concern.

I don't see any slams on anyone here.

2. The moderator's lock message shows a clear bias.

"Thanks to all the well wishers, the good DUers, who contribute positivity to this discussion board!"
This same moderator was one of those "well wishers..." The crack about positivity was a direct reference to the deleted subthread. It was a side discussion about feeling left out by such threads (the poster also referred to it as depressing.) The discussion that ensued was the only "negativity" in the thread. Again, the discussion was civil for a few exchanges, then it devolved.

The mod could have simply locked the thread by writing that it had runs its course.


That stills leaves open my question on why the entire subthread was deleted. Was there a reason other than it ruined the positivity?
