Hi I stumbled on your site and found a question by sybylla I registered but I am not able to contact this person. It’s an old post from 2007 which reads: Anyone here looking for a Bates family in Wisconsin I went to an estate auction today and accidentally purchased a wonderful family bible. I'd give anything to have such a keepsake in my family so I'm always appalled when others sell theirs so thoughtlessly. It was tossed in a box with other old books and pamphlets (my particular weakness).
It was printed in 1829 and was owned by a Phineas Bates born in either 1795 or 1796 and died 1872. It contains loads of other family information, clippings and a post card.
If you think you might have a connection, pm me and we'll talk.
I actually own the home that was built by Phineas Bates son in Canandaigua NY-Stephen. Stephen and his wife Naomi are buried in Prairie du Sak along with some grandkids, Phineas is in Canandaigua. The post is from ’07 but I would love to get in contact with this person to see if they still have it. Can you help me!? holly
