May I Make A Suggestion: How About An Appeals Process?

Yes, we have to have rules, and when a DUer violates certain rules, they get banned. I understand that. However, as in life, there are shades of gray. There are situations where it's not so cut and dried, and I do think that it's unfair to pressure Skinner to make a decision.

For those cases where it's borderline, why not have an appeals process? How about a petition for re-instatement which needs a certain number of signatures, then an appeals process, and finally a vote by the DU community.

We would not have to do this for everybody that got banned, and it would be under Skinner's discretion to grant an appeal process.

However, we would at least have something in place for those shades of gray situations.

1. We have an appeals process, albeit an informal one.

Someone can send us an email and make their case. If we are moved by what they have to say, then we might let them back.

I can say with certainty that we would never have an appeals process based on someone's ability to collect lots of signatures, or a vote by the DU community.
