Question about locking "Is Texas Governor Rick Perry Gay?"

I'm still not sure why this was locked. I do not see why the implications were insensitive and offensive to many DU members. He has chosen to seriously attack a minority of Americans, and wishes to do so with great power "if" he were president.

Discussions of Perry's sexual orientation have been posted a number of times on DU, as well as in many places on the Internet.

When one is a presidential candidate and lashes out at minorities IMO their own background needs scrutiny. Over and over again we see wherein people of this frame of mind are generally dealing with some issues themselves and lash out at others as a cover-up and defense mechanism. His intent is to do serious harm "if" elected president. This is a serious issue for millions of Americans. DU should be no exception in examining this.

I certainly understand the argument that the hypocrisy is relevant. But many of our members feel that this type of speculation casts homosexuality as bad.
