Please can you tell us what specific standards they didn't meet so we can learn more about how decisions like this are made?

I've been posting in LBN nearly every day for the past 3 years since I joined DU and have a good understanding of that forum's guidelines. However, I can't see any standards in the guidelines that it didn't meet, that's why I had to resort to asking here.

and in this case it appears they decided that the story was not breaking news but more of a support piece.
