Why is a really sexist title like this one allowed to stand in General Discussion? I wasn't complaining about the content of the post, just the headline. I reported on it several times and was ignored. The OP and other posters trashed me for it in the thread.

If somebody wrote a post and titled it "fuck him" the DU men would be all over the forum whining about it, but a post titled "fuck her" is no problem at all in GD.

1. It's an important quote from the article
and it shows the kind of people that Paul Ryan is hanging out with while they drink their $350 bottles of wine.

If the business professor in question had been a man, and the person dining with Paul Ryan had said "Fuck him," and the OP had chosen that as the title of the thread, I seriously doubt that "DU men would be all over the forum whining about it."

Don't dignify "fuck her" as being an important quote.

One of the reasons I hesitate to refer people to Democratic Underground is because of the trashiness of the headlines in GD and this is a perfect example. My mother is a lifelong Democrat in her 80s and I would never show her this website just because of this kind of crap. Should we look for the profanity in every single story and put it in quotes in the headline to attract attention? Are we a bunch of seventh grade boys or what?

Does it ever occur to you that putting the word "fuck" in front of a pronoun representing a group that is still struggling for equal rights might be offensive to a member of that group? Especially when you send it off to the greatest page with 140 recs and do everything possible to silence a DU member who objects to it by deleting every single one of her comments?

The title could have and should have been about the story. But the males around here were getting off on their right to say "fuck her" on a saturday night. To hell with all the women at Democratic Underground who have been recent victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Their right to express FUCK HER is more important.

Congratulations on making Democratic Underground part of the American Rape culture. For sending FUCK HER to the Greatest Page you all get a special place in the Hall of Shame.
