I lost it when some DUers didn't like the sigline that said, "I told you so," and linked to a post I made during the primaries pointing out Obama's neoliberal policies. A post that was up for over a year, and was suddenly deleted in the months after the inauguration, when it was somehow not okay to criticize the Democratic president's policies. It didn't break DU rules.
I was told to take the sigline down, and I did. I replaced it with one noting that my sigline was censored. Which was true. That, though, resulted in the loss of sigline privilege.
It's been more than a year. I don't like Obama's policies any better than I ever did, and I'm not afraid to say so. It's not about him, it's about the issues. I hope it's okay to be left-wing on issues here at DU. I'm still a Democrat, and a DUer of long standing. This IS supposed to be a "left-wing" discussion board, and Obama and the "left-wing" are not exactly bosom buddies. That's certainly been more than clear over the last two years.
The DU divide over this Democratic administration is much, much larger than my sigline protesting the nomination of a self-identified "new" Democrat instead of an old school liberal Democrat.
Can we move on? Can I have my sigline back?
