In response to this thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=433&topic_id=681112&mesg_id=681112 phleshdef called out gays on DU as "childish" and called our concerns "unreasonable" and "driven by impatience." I know that at least two users (myself included) alerted on that post.
Nearly every response criticizing that post was deleted, and a thread in GLBT drawing attention to the post (while not calling out the poster by name, I will add) was locked after making its way to the Greatest Page.
If the moderators and administrators approached anti-gay posters the same way they approached people who criticized Obama's treatment of gay issues, then this poster (along with many others) would have been tombstoned ages ago.
So my questions are:
(1) Why are homophobic comments still allowed free rein while criticism of those comments is not?
(2) When will this matter be remedied?
