My Sister

My Sister was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. She is 55, has no insurance or job.
Can I post, asking for help for her situation? This would include monetary, volunteer medical help, or whatever it takes to save her life and nose.

I have not set up a "fund" (through a bank, I guess) yet. I would probably have to do this first?

I have no idea. I just will do anything in my power to help my Sister. She was diagnosed yesterday at our local TN Health Dept. She has had an open wound on her nose for months, sadly it takes money and or insurance to survive. She has neither and hoped (for 10 months) that it would "just go away."

TennCare(?) our state version of medicare, will not help her. If the cancer were breast or ovarian, they would. What a country we have become. I have found a surgeon who is willing to give her a consultation for $75. This is (I guess) great, in these times. He usually charges $300 for a consult.....

She will require (I am told) an oncology surgeon and a reconstructive surgeon. This is besides the hospital charges (we are filling papers out to see if they will reduce or "write them off"), the anesthesiologist.....the lady at the hospital said there were 6 different specialists to pay.

In 2011, an American (whoop dee), can die if they are poor.... My God, what a country!

I really have no idea how to set this up. If anyone has experience, and can give me some guidance, it will be very much appreciated.
