I saw this question in another post in this forum, and it was something that I ran into myself and could not figure out for some time.
On some newer Windows laptops that use a touchpad for input, there is a feature that allows you to use the iPhone-like "pinch" and "zoom" gestures on the touchpad to zoom out and zoom in on a web page. However, they do not exactly zoom in and out in the same way, where everything on the page simply gets bigger; instead, they adjust the font size. You have to watch how you use the touchpad because putting another finger on it while you move the mouse cursor can be interpreted as a "pinch" or "zoom". I'm not sure but I believe these "multi-touch" gestures are not handled by Windows itself, but are handled by some software that the vendor includes on the system, so I'm not sure there's a standard way to turn it off on every Windows laptop.
