Question on ruling a post as bigoted
This thread about a homeless man nearly being crushed to death while sleeping in a dumpster elicited many humorous replies early on:

Would that be considered bigotry against the homeless? (Not just the OP, but the humorous replies?)

2. If the thread had been about
a gay person / racial or ethnic minority / mentally challenged child / rape victim who felt themselves to be in danger and had chosen to take shelter in the dumpster--the safest spot they could find--and nearly been crushed to death, would the snarky replies have therefore been acceptable and left in place?

Personally, my feeling is that they would not have been and therefore neither should cruel remarks about homeless people. Had I been a mod I would have deleted them. Would that have been wrong if I'd made that judgment call? (Just in case I am ever in the position of being a mod.)

Thank you.

3. If the replies had been
snarky replies based on that person's sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, mental disability, gender, then they would not be permitted.
