But have you ever thought that there may be enemies of Democratic Underground? And to what extent they would go to get rid of you or shut you down?

We have heard rumors of people being paid to "infiltrate" certain left-wing sites and disrupt and destroy the discussions. In fact, we have seen posts on DU about ads to do just that?

Every post that is critical of the Republicans will get "unrecced". For example, the post from the Maddow show.

My question is: Do you have any idea to what extent these folks have infiltrated DU? And what can you do about it?

1. The Admins are able to see who recs and unrecs threads

and I think I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times we've caught people using the function nefariously. I think people just need to understand that these days there is going to be disagreement on almost all issues here.

To answer your specific question about "infiltrators": We have no idea to what extent paid disruptors may have infiltrated DU, there's no way we could possibly know, and therefore there's nothing we can do about it.
